Life in VP world
I have been writing new material, which if I do say so some of it is slammin...Just awesome. The funny thing about being a creative person is that sometimes you create things and think how did I create that. You forget the creative process because it just happens and suddenly there it is this tune fells like it came out of nowhere. I think creative people suffer from amnesia or something like that cause when I am creating something it is like I go into a trance and can't remember how I got to the end point. Maybe that is a weird way of explaining it...But it is the only way I can.
I have been just upgrading a few things in the studio and searching for a new drummer. Now getting airplay in Brazil now which is awesome and selling CD's there so I thank the folks in Brazil for getting behind the music. It is crazy that you can have people that far away getting into what you are doing, a real buzz.
Me and Ells are doing a gig later on this month in Leeds on the 28th in the packhorse which I am really looking forward to. Once we have got the new lineup sorted we will be getting the full band out again. We were sorry to see Ralph and Jonny leaving but the Vivid Prophet band is an ever revolving door, we couldn't have them staying too long!!!(LOL)
I have really just got back from Hong Kong and China which are beautiful countries and really nice people. It was fascinating to see Communism from a western perspective. I was more interested in what they didn't tell me than what they did. The western media appears to be free to criticise and pull people down and expose. I do realise that the western media is filtered through a biased mindset the same as it is in China. I cannot really comment as I was only there for 4 days but it was great to get a taster of the country. Went to Tianamen square, which is incidentally the largest city square in the world (my brain collects trivia). There is a sign in the square that says you cannot drive cars within the square as it is for pedestrians. The sign didn't mention anything about tanks or armored personnel carriers...Funny that.
The great wall blew me away as it is soooo long and really steep in sections. Incredible that they managed to haul that amount of stone up to the tops of hills.
Heard some Kanto Pop whilst I was in Hong Kong...hmmm....Not really a fan!!! Imagine the most saccharine and treacle covered ballad to lost love and you have got it. HK though is a stunning city and hi to Jo Jo Mojo in Kowloon, thanks for putting up with us and it was great to see you. Look forward to seeing you at Christmas.
